We are incredibly grateful to our Principal Interview Team, who spent a full day engaging in thoughtful dialogue and collaboration. Their  insights, professionalism, and dedication were vital to this important decision.

Our interview process was guided by the input we received from the staff and community (Click HERE to view a summary of that feedback for your reference). Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts—your voices made a difference!

While the final decision was not easy given the talent of the candidates, Mrs. Kubilius clearly stood out.  Mrs. Kubilius brings a wealth of experience in education and school leadership. She currently serves as Assistant Principal at Richland Elementary in Crest Hill, where she has led key initiatives in curriculum development, instructional coaching, data-driven improvement, and restorative discipline practices. Prior to her work in administration, she served as a Math Interventionist, Instructional Coach, and classroom teacher for over 19 years, and has actively contributed to school leadership, district planning, and professional development at every level of her career. Throughout the interview process, her caring, positive, family and student-centered mindset were evident to everyone. She shares the same values that make Lace such a special place to learn and grow, and these qualities are what makes Mrs. Kubilius the next Principal at Lace.

The district is working with Mr. Kubilius to plan a community meet and greet, and will communicate about this opportunity once details are finalized. In the meantime, you can view a letter from Mrs. Kubilius sharing more about her professional and personal life by following this LINK.
